چکیده

Abstract Background As a complex system participating in tumor development and progression, the microenvironment was poorly understood esophageal cancer especially squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). Methods ESTIMATE algorithm is used to investigate tumor-infiltrating immune cells prognostic genes which were associated with ESCC. Results Based on stromal scores, ESCC samples divided into high low score groups 299 overlapping differentially expressed identified. Functional enrichment analysis showed that these mainly involved muscle-related function. Prognostic including COL9A3 , GFRA2 VSIG4 establish risk prediction model using Cox regression analyses. Then multivariate an independent discriminator of better prognosis. Kaplan–Meier survival expression significantly correlated overall patients. The area under curve for predicting 1- 3- year rates 0.660 0.942, respectively. negatively plasma cells, while positively proportions activated CD4 memory T M1 Macrophages M2 ( p < 0.001 each comparison). Gene set suggested both response process gene sets enriched high-risk group. Conclusions Our study provided comprehensive understanding TME establishment valuable early identification patients facilitate individualized treatment improve possibility immunotherapy response.

Comprehensive immunohistochemical analysis of tumor microenvironment immune status in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma

Immunotherapy with anti-PD-1 antibody preliminarily showed promising efficacy for treating esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). Herein, we used tissue microarrays and immunohistochemically analyzed PD-L1 and various tumor infiltrating immune cells (TIICs) in specimens from 196 ESCC patients who had undergone curative resection without preoperative therapy. PD-L1 expressions in tumor cells...

Role of Brg1 in progression of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma

Objective(s): Epigenetic regulation of gene expression can be carried out through chromatin remodeling enzymes such as SWI/SNF. Brg1 also known as SMARCA4 is a catalytic subunit of SWI/SNF, which is necessary for MMPs expression. Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are known as important player enzymes during tumor progression and metastasis. Aberrant epigenetic modification of chromatin should be...

Prognostic significance of tumor-infiltrating immune cells and PD-L1 expression in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma

Programmed death-1 receptor (PD-1) and its ligand (PD-L1) play an integral role in regulating the immune response against cancer. This study investigated the prognostic significance of PD-L1 expression on tumor cells and tumor-infiltrating immune cells (TILs) in the tumor microenvironment in Chinese patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). Archival formalin-fixed, paraffin-embed...

Coexistence of Granular Cell Tumor with Squamous Cell Carcinoma on the Tongue: A Case Report

Introduction: Granular cell tumors (GCTs) are rare and mostly benign soft tissue tumors. Though they have been reported in all parts of body, they are generally located in the head and neck region, especially on the tongue. Some malign forms exist, but these have been rarely reported. Granular cell tumors have a neural origin and, in immunohistochemical evaluations, they express S-100 and neuro...

The Usefulness of CD10 in Distinguishing between Cutaneous Basal Cell Carcinoma and Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Background & Objectives:  CD10 is a cell surface enzyme with metalloendopeptidase activity, also known as Common Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia Antigen, which mainly serves as a marker for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). To date and to the best of our knowledge, only few comparative immunohistochemical studies have assessed CD10 expression in cutaneous epithelial neoplasms. Our goal was to d...
